A plane with people willing to die (and kill) for their cause flew out of the Middle-East, where the feminine is most suppressed and where their religion is war, and flew into the West, where the feminine is not at all suppressed but suffers from a case of mistaken identity. Yin masquerading as Yang rules New York City, the most egocentric city in the world. The twin towers, two magnificent erections, the heart of capitalism, world trade.

And what has the West traded in exchange for it’s magnificence? Why it’s traded it’s femininity and replaced it with a twin tower. Two towers of Babel, that have toppled.

So the Middle east are in T-error, because war can never be holy, and the West are T-errorized, and they also wage an unholy war because God and State have long been separate, and it is in both cases a male war, fought by male ego. The ego’s role is essentially feminine or receptive, to be guided by the masculine element. When the ego rules instead, it is the feminine masquerading as the masculine, and the cosmic forces are turned upside down. The causes may be just, but the methods will often be wrong because the ego uses force to achieve it’s aim.

We have George Bush and Bin Laden, leading countries into T-error. We all suffer from an identity crisis and a role reversal which will create havoc until it reaches a saturation point, and then it corrects itself.

In the cosmic duality, the world is feminine, and the spirit is masculine. The visible is feminine, the invisible is masculine. The ego is feminine, the spirit is masculine.

Anything with IN•DIVIDE•DUAL form is split by it’s very definition. The ego is the visible chariot, the spirit or soul is the invisible passenger, and God is the charioteer. When the ego is rolling along without the charioteer, it’s wheels get stuck in the mud, or it collides with another ego. What then? How does one give the reins back to the charioteer?

By stopping, becoming still and surrendering.

EVOLVE

Eve is the agent of evolution. I've tried to impose militaristic disciplines on myself but that does not work. After a while I realized that 'keeping my word' or 'my word as law' is an intellectual idea to me, not an actual way of being.

In general though, the seamy side of my word-breaking is not visible to others, or so I think. I often do complete things, with a gargantuan last minute effort, which causes me to go out of balance. Lately, I've had a few encounters of missed deadlines and things falling thru the cracks in my web development team. These were big blunders caused by well-meaning people that have caused big losses, to the tune of millions of dollars of lost opportunity and income.

Everything is a mirror, and often it is easier to see things in the mirror of the other than in oneself. But since there is no other, I can actually observe the behavior of those closest to me and I will begin to see all the ways in which I do break my word, or over inflate it, or over promise, or over-extend, or under-deliver, under stand, scrape by with the minimum of adherence required to what I myself have agreed to do-- often the covenant is with no one but myself. The key word is Over and Under. Two extremes, both excessive, a true symptom of the times. So what's a person of integrity to do?

Aha! Look closely at that word integrity. Is it a moral value? That's a slippery thing, of no substance. But what if Integrity is actually a field, an energetic field around you, and whenever you break your word, it causes a little fray, or a rip or a huge gaping tear in the fabric of that field, and therefore in the tensile strength of the force field around you.

Everytime you completely stand behind your word in your actions, the field gets stronger, the mesh finer. Everytime you slip by with an excuse, or say something you don't mean, or make an idle boast, the field gets weaker. The weakness causes you to lean, one way or the other. Lean into defensiveness, lean into rationalizations. Think of a parachute with rips or tears in it. There is not enough air for lift-off.

So don't give your word without thinking of whether you can keep it. This is one instance where the paradox works-- you can give and keep this at the same time.

Eve-ill

Eve is the agent of evolution. The snake is the life force/kundalini energy demonized. Also called Serpent Power. We are a race of Serpent Power stymied, stuck in the lower chakras in survival and domination issues.

The reason Eve is offered the apple, not Adam is because it takes femininity, or receptivity to a higher power to be able to eat the fruit wisely. An apple a day has always been a symbol of health as well as knowledge.
Thus we have blamed the woman, demonized the snake and mislabeled the tree and the fruit.

The complementary pair, man and woman are permanently placed in imbalance and opposition: accuser and accused, victim and oppressor. Shame and guilt are the foundation of our existence. Shame at being naked, so sex is also shameful. And since the western world view dominates, we have remained since that fateful story at 20% of our DNA potential, and strangers to our true evolutionary purpose as humans.

The beauty of the broken thing

In the Huichol tradition, the deer is a sacred animal, the ‘deer spirit’ an omen of power, gentleness and ransformation.. I was that baby shaman who at a very young age faced my primal fear and transmuted it. While my mother was mortally ill in the hospital, I was sexually assaulted by a stanger. I created a mantle of 'total amnesia' around the incident. I pushed it down and locked it up, to save my mother’s life, and my own. I allowed it to surface only when I was spiritually mature and ‘awake again’ so that I could properly deal with it.

Primal fear turns to primal passion, and this underground sizzle has lent a certain intensity to my life, has been the fuel for me to rise above mediocrity, travel to strange lands, find ways to sweeten the alienation and separation that was the bitter fruit of the experience. It has made me a storyteller, finding meaning in darkness and suffering, finding them to be the necessary ground that fertilizes the growth and blossoming of enlightened consciousness.

Today I went for a sunset walk in the park with Elvis. I wasn’t planning to go, but he wanted to and he ran out expectantly, as if something very exciting lay await for us. Beautiful evening. Soft breeze, pale pink wash over the sky, trees in magnificent foliage.

At the park, I slipped off my sandals and walked barefoot over the damp cool grass, enjoying the contact with the earth, feeling her energy rise up me. We walked towards the far end of the park. Suddenly, Elvis dashed towards the fence, and I heard the clatter of hooves and the flash of two deer running against the fence. One of them disappeared in a great leap over the 7 ft. chain link fence. Elvis meanwhile was within sniffing distance of a very young fawn, only a few inches taller than him. Elvis, who has often been compared to a deer himself, was only chasing as a game. But the little fawn was terrified. She squealed in fear, and the sound pierced my heart like an arrow, as she tried vainly to jump over the fence. I called Elvis away from her, and he obeyed. She repeatedly kept trying to jump over the fence. I felt her panic and her fear like it was my own, and my heart bled for her. Now she was trying to ram the fence and go through it. She would run a few yards and then throw herself at another section of fence, and her panic grew with each failed attempt.

I thought I would follow her so that she might find the opening at the far end, but she was too distracted to run all the way there. I heard the mother pacing back and forth on the other side of the fence, waiting for her Bambi.

If only I could just grab the little fawn and help her over the fence and put an end to her fear. But I was the one she was scared of, and paradoxically, I was capable of rescuing her, if she would only let me. But of course that would never happen. Her fear although instinctual, was an illusion, because Elvis and I were no threat to her. Its all an illusion. I got close enough to touch her, and she squealed again and ran the other way. Finally, I realized that all I needed to do was leave, and the mother would find her way back into the park and get her child.

As I was walking out, at the edge of the park, I took one last look, and when I turned around I ran into a metal pole, I hit my upper lip, and chipped a tooth on it, bringing me back to reality with a jolt of pain. It had been a battle and I was wounded. My chipped tooth gives me ‘Shibui’ the beauty of the broken thing, as the Japanese say.

Remember, primal fear leads to primal passion. We focus all our energy on eliminating what we’ve defined as the ‘axis of evil’ the thing on the outside, believing that this will make us whole. But by fighting evil with evil we are doing the very thing that we are condemning: violence and terror. It’s twice wrong. How can it ever be right? But evil always negates itself eventually. That’s how the good prevails. Before the shadow and before the vale.

There’s a cosmic law at work here. And you could say “The devil made me do it.”

But when you look the devil in the face and you finally realize that the devil is a coat on a rack that looked like a man lurking in your bedroom at night when you were a child: a figment of our collective fear given shape by the imagination and solidified in time. Everything that resonates in our common memory goes back at least 2000 years. And it’s all polarized. The story of Christ is a story of poles, symbolized by the cross: opposing forces, and One is crucified in the center.

The whole of religion, both Eastern and Western has been an idolization of the ego-personality who became a Christ or a Buddha or a Mohammed, or achieved mastery of any kind. The very thing they themselves warn not to do.

I believe that the situations of life bend you and break you and shape you and stretch you for this one purpose only, your own transformation from ego to spirit. Finally in some lucky lifetime it dawns on you that this is what’s happening, and you become “malleable” to the process. You stop resisting so much. It’s what Christ did and what Buddha did, and scores of others, to lesser degree. Their stories are all unique, and they manifest completely differently based on their character and circumstance. But always there is high drama before the transformation. And always, a confrontation with the shadow. What transforms them into extraordinary beings is their choice to love at the moments of crisis.

The Language of Polarity, the Language of Unity

In • divide • dual.
One consciousness is split into separate bodies, with a dual nature: man and woman, spirit and flesh, right and left, X and Y, yin and yang. The cosmic duality dances an endless dance of coming together and splitting apart.

The word spells the nature of our being, but only when we really see or hear it. The language that we use to communicate globally, English, has a second layer of meaning that is very thinly veiled by the spelling. The spelling is a ‘spell’ that we are caught in. Unraveling the spell reveals a path to freedom that has been echoed by spiritual masters through the ages. Sometimes called the Middle Way, sometimes a union of opposites. The characteristics of the path and the nature of both ego and spirit are spelled out in our common everyday language. English, or should I say ANGLE-ish.

The second language of English cannot be accessed just in a linear fashion, using straight line logic. While it IS logical, it is a kind of ‘super-logic’. It’s a little bit like peripheral vision. The totality of what you can ‘see’ with your eyes is only describable in language by strings of words, linear sequences. The mind breaks these linear sequences up into whole images again, and gives them meaning. But the linear sequences are made up of forms and sounds and these forms and sounds paint a picture in invisible ink that becomes apparent (a parent) when you allow the words to ‘fall upon’ your hearing or your vision, with a beginner’s mind. In order to seek whence they come from you have to see and hear in a whole new way, a holographic way.

Opposition, is an O position, and contains the ‘posit’ of ‘positive’ in it. This means that opposition is 2 points in a circle, a whole, and so it is in essence an illusion. Essence is S sense, and S is a snake, or the feminine serpentine energy that winds up the Pole of polarity, and the spine to meet it’s opposite, and grow wings to ascend.

God is an abstract idea, so we’ve created many many images of things that are holy, in order to define what is essentially undefinable.

TWIN TOWERS

On 9/11, a state of emergency was created.

Invisible Design

Design is invisible when it works. The interface on my Macintosh is very carefully designed, but I don't even notice it. If it was buggy or poorly designed, I would notice it. It would annoy me and I wouldn't think much of the product. Without good design Macintosh wouldn't exist. (What about Windows, you might ask?) Getting back to the subject...

Good design IS invisible. We see it in nature all the time. The design of how trees branch works perfectly every time. You don't see some trees branching at the wrong angle or 'attempting' to branch. That design is built into the design of a whole system that extends not just to trees but also to nervous systems and coral reefs and root systems and neighborhoods.

We're talking about real objects here, but their design can be reduced to numbers or a c ode, just like the DNA code, which is a meta-program. In the case of trees branching, the code sequence is called the Fibonacci sequence. It is named after the man who invented it in the 12th century.

At some point a designer reaches a threshold where they realize that they cannot actually execute an idea that mimics nature without understanding math and programming. If you want to create an animation where trees branch realistically, then one way to do it is to simulate it visually on screen. But if you want to apply the meta-pattern to snowflakes, or raindrops or showing growth on a tree, it might be easier to figure out the code for it once, and then use it again and again. Similarly, if you want to change or impact the design of human consciousness, the meta-code you might turn to is DNA. The code of language impacts all of the above, and this code is more elusive, because we think we know what words mean. But it isn't called "spell" for nothing.

Good design is also visible in many everyday objects around us, frying pans, paper clips, wheels, cars. We are not stirred by the novelty of their design anymore because we're so used to them, but they are examples of good design that works. Our understanding of how to design things better has evolved, and keeps evolving over millennia because that's in the grand plan or 'design' of things. (Who designed that, you might ask?)

At different eras in human history the focus or emphasis was on different things। Cave men were designing tools with stone, today it's more complex. But still design. Some designs have been perfected in their function, but stylistic differences keep evolving, like toasters, or bows and arrows. Others seem to evolve infinitely, like star systems or computer systems.

Sacred Geometry and Logo Design

Yin and yang. Male and female. Creative and receptive. Ego and spirit. Unity and duality. Sacred geometry is the path which reconciles opposing forces in a situation, and creates an idea that can transform or change the situation.

The geometry behind the famous yin/yang symbol is a circle which contains 2 smaller circles. The top-half of one and the bottom half of the other are cut off and this creates the division and movement of 2 equal and opposing forces, half up half down, half visible half not. Each flows and transforms into the other in a constant cyclic process of transformation.

This country was founded on principles that were grounded in spirit. The vitality that created those principles has shaped the country for 200 years. Sacred geometry is a way to revitalize that spirit and apply these invisible principles to shape an organization to conduct it's business in accordance with cosmic laws.
Sacred geometry is a map of the invisible. It’s the structures and patterns, sometimes atomic, sometimes galactic, that define forms and systems. Understanding sacred geometry can give meaning to life, and simplifies the ability to navigate your ship in an increasingly complex world. These patterns repeat themselves in species and objects, in social systems, behavior patterns, and in cycles of change. They show up as symbols—in business brands, art and architecture, mythology and religion.

The Principles of Sacred Geometry
There are two main principles in sacred geometry: the masculine and the feminine. Defined by the number One and Two, this universal duality goes by many names, and usually refers to a pairing of opposites: X and Y, 1 and 2, Heaven and Earth, yin and yang, black and white, Up and down, visible and invisible, cross and a circle, positive and negative, ego and spirit. Simply stated, ANY relationship can be defined in terms of maleness and femaleness.

The relationship between a leader and a follower for example is a male-female relationship. The masculine is assigned the number 1, and the feminine is assigned the number 2.

Sacred Geometry and Web Design
If you think of the web as the nexus for ideas, a melting-pot of Mind, your website is the starting point for a piece of communication that spirals outwards, infinitely repeating itself, like the Golden Section or PI. So the starting point for your communication is the most important element because it is the essence of what spirals out in greater complexity. The starting point is a simple definition of goals. Simple definitions are difficult because it is a very small place, the razor’s edge, you might say. When you reach that small place, original goals—the root idea becomes apparent. From there you can build a plan. It’s difficult to talk about sacred geometry or define it with words alone. It has to be shown. Here are a few world-class logos and the sacred geometry imbued in their symbol. I don’t know whether these symbols were designed with this understanding in mind. But it’s because of the meaning they imbue that people are attracted to certain forms. These forms keep repeating themselves through history.

From the sacred to the profane

The pentagram was the symbol of the Pythagoreans, a group of Greek philosophers who thought the secrets of the universe were hidden in numbers and expressed through geometry and music. The pentagram is a universal symbol for growth and regeneration. Penta or five is the center, the mathematical middle of nine (femi-nine) coming together in a circle.

The cross is a co-ordiante of a vertical and a horizontal ordinate. X and Y, which stand for direction, and also designate the male and female chromosome. It symbolizes direction and crossroads, and of course, when viewed from below it is the Christian crucifix.

The Texaco logo derives it’s power from these 2 secular symbols, the pentagram and the cross.

Mastery of 3-dimensions is symbolized by the 3-pronged Mercedes-Benz logo. 2 symbolizes duality. Three is a trinity, or tri-unity.

Every tension of opposites culminates in a release, out of which comes the “third”. In the third, the tension is resolved and the lost unity is restored.
Carl Jung.

The image is also mimicked in the Hindu greeting “Namaste” which symbolizes a meeting of minds and hearts, and a union of left and right.

The Fish
The Christian fish symbol, comes from the center carved out of the intersection of two circles whose circumference just touches the center of the other.

This geometry is called a Vesica piscis—vesica means bladder which could be likened to a sac containing something fluid, in this case “piscis” which means pointed oval.

In geometry a Vesica Piscis, Yin and yang coming together in Taoism, and the center of creative vision by experience.

If you draw another vesica piscis inside the center and erase everything but the oval in the center, you get a pupil, a symbol used in Hindu mandalas, and geometric meditation diagrams symbolizing “vision”

CBS evolved these forms and made all the circles one, and we have the famous CBS eye.

So what does it matter/ Couldn’t CBS have used any eye? Yes, but because the form of their symbol resonates throughout history and is embedded in sacred geometry, it is a powerful image, it echoes in the collective unconscious.

TWA uses the same geometry in their original logo, symbolizing the union of different worlds through travel.

And mastercard uses it to denote the power of credit:

In all these cases, the form derives it’s original power from the meaning of a union of opposites. The meanings associated with it by brand came later. Those are more individual to the brand. The meaning of the logo and the power of the symbol is universal.

BACK TO AWAKE MEDIA I EMAIL Lakshmi Narayan
